About WHO
Founded in 1948, the World Health Organization (WHO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to promote health, keep the world safe, and serve the vulnerable so everyone, everywhere can live a healthy life.
What We Do
WHO leads global efforts to achieve health for all. We:
-Expand access to universal health coverage
-Coordinate responses to health emergencies
-Promote healthier lives at every stage
Working with 194 countries and partners worldwide, WHO tackles challenges from pandemics like COVID‑19 to diseases such as HIV, malaria, and cancer. Guided by science and collaboration, we strive to give every person an equal chance at a safe, healthy future.
